“Charlie Hegarty’s ” was a notorious bar and night club.  The ground floor was a warren of bars and rooms that receded into darkness.  Our local publican client who had purchased the premises recognised a new social and political era as it was happening and saw an opportunity to introduce a more European attitude to socialising and clubbing.  The building was opened up on the ground floor with one long bar extending from front to back.  A new partial steel frame was introduced and the premises virtually rebuilt.  The first floor was designed as the Boom Boom Rooms with Night Club and VIP bar.
